Over 40 vehicles damaged as truck loses control on Mumbai-Bengaluru highway

As many as six people were injured in a tragic accident at Navale bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune last night. Over 40 vehicles were severely damaged after being hit by a truck on the downward slope of a bridge on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway. It happened either due to suspected brake failure of the truck or its driver losing control.

Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have reached the spot. The six injured are being treated at two hospitals, the official said.

Meanwhile, taking view of the tragic accident Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed a thorough investigation of the incident.
