Puli was released in the year 2015. Probably the most hyped movie of Vijay’s career. But the film was a disappointment in every way. Critics and audiences alike abandoned the film. The Tiger show ended as one of the biggest tragedies of Vijay’s career. So naturally the media exposure for Vijay’s next film was relatively low. Even though there was a director named Aatli who made a name for himself with his first film Rajarani, perhaps only Vijay fans were waiting for Theri. Puli was released on October 1, 2015. The next Vijay movie was released 6 months later. Theri hit theaters on the same day five years ago.
Attlee – Vijay team up for the first time together. The director was also a big fan of Vijay. Tribute given by a fan for her favorite star, literally that was the movie Teri. The word “fanboy” was first heard by South Indian cinema audiences after this film. The film received an impressive initial collection. Theri continued to be very consistent in the coming weeks. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.
The film was a complete package by actor Vijay. Romance, comedy timing, action, family moments – so the film had all the resources that the audience was waiting to see from the star. Never before have so many elements come together in a winning film. So Teri got a reception that didn’t even get a knife or a gun, from the family audience. In recent times, a winning film has not received so much family audience support.
Along with Vijay, there is another name that deserves congratulations for bringing the family audience to the theaters – Nainika. It is also the first film of actress Meena’s daughter Nainika. The Vijay-Nainika combination is one of the main factors that motivates you to watch the film again and again. Their songs, dances and dialogues were well received by the audience. Even after so many years of release, the film has received excellent TRP ratings whenever it hits TV. Perhaps one of the main factors that motivates the audience for this repeat watch is the Vijay-Nainika combination scenes. Probably after Gilli, Teri is another Vijay movie with such a repeat watch quality. Samantha, Amy Jackson, Motta Rajendran, Mahendran and GV Prakash Kumar all played their roles beautifully for the film. If Teri has been enjoying herself for so many years, they all appreciate it.
