India’s Ricky Kej wins Grammy award for ‘Divine Tides’

India is proud of Bengaluru-based musician Ricky Kej for winning his second Grammy Award on Sunday. He bagged the trophy along with Stewart Copeland for `Divine Tides` in the Best New Age Album category at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. According to its official website, ‘Divine Tides’ is a nine-song album that aims to deliver the message that ”each individual life plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance that serves all equally”.

Sharing the news on Twitter with his followers, Ricky wrote, “Won the Grammy Award today for our album Divine Tides. Filled with gratitude and love this living-legend standing with me – @copelandmusic. My 2nd Grammy and Stewart`s 6th. Thank you to everyone who ever collaborated, hired, or listened to my music. I exist because of you.”

The 64th Grammy Awards was held at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Marquee Ballroom on April 4. Kej greeted the audiences with a namaste when he took the stage with Copeland to receive the prestigious gramophone.

Ricky Kej won his first Grammy in 2015 at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards for his album Winds of Samsara in the Best New Age Album category.

Meanwhile, New York-based Indian singer Falguni Shah also had a maiden win at the 2022 Grammys. Known by her stage name Falu, Shah earned her first Grammy Award for ‘A Colorful World’ in the best children’s album category.
