Police has taken five people under custody, over the incident of the raping a woman in Kaniyapuram, Thiruvananthapuram. Going in line with reports, five people, including her husband is under police custody. Police is in search of sixth person, who is involved in the crime. The woman, a resident of Kaniyapuram, was gang-raped by a group of six people last night. Subsequently, police took the statement of the woman. The woman was then taken to her home.
Sources suggest that the woman had maintained that her husband was drunk, last night. However, she said that he, in the past, had abused her several times; her son too was brutally beaten. Regarding the group of men, who raped her, the woman said she had never met these people before. It is reported that she was raped multiple times, when she tried to escape. In the end, the woman however managed to escape with the help of another woman at home. The young woman was then found by a group of young men, who escorted her to the house and then rushed to the hospital.
