As the state entered the first phase of unlock, it has reported several cases of quarantine infringement. In a case of the violation of quarantine norms, a University teacher has visited the University. The teacher, who works at Sree Sankara University, Kalady, has reported reacher her workplace, by defying the police surveillance. The teacher who came to Kerala from Bihar was advised to go quarantine. But, when contacted, the teacher maintained that she had received a special permission from the district Collector.
In a similar instance, a couple from Mumbai who were admitted to the Kalamassery Govt. quarantine center, have arrived at the Nedumbassery International Airport. The couple – fully equipped to fly back to Mumbai – reached the airport, bypassing the police surveillance. However, the police have reportedly not charged case against them. However, it is been alleged that police wanted to underplay the incident for covering the lapse from their part.
