Tiago became 2nd most sold small car in India

Tata Tiago Official Website

Tata Motor’s Tiago has bolstered its position in India’s small car market segment. The segment, which is led by Maruti Suzuki’s Alto, saw Tiago taking over the second position from Renault Kwid and Hyundai Eon. According to the data provided by the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), a total of 23,100 units of Tiago were sold out during the January – March period of 2018. Chart topper, Alto has sold 62,200 units during the same period. However, one interesting revelation was that, while Alto experienced 1 percent increase from previous year, Tiago has gone onto increase its sales by 50 percent over the previous year.

Hyundai Eon met with a decline of 7 percent from its last year’s sales volume; Renault Kwid, on the other hand, experienced a steep decline of 32 percent. Launched in April 2016 for INR 3.2 lakh, Tiago is Tata’s bestseller in the domestic passenger vehicle business.
