Soon after Kerala Rail Development Corporation released the details of the Trivandrum – Kasargode Silver Line plan, it was revealed that the plan would undergo some changes. It was in the Koyilandi – Kannur route that is going to have realignment. Pondicherry has raised objections over the proposed alignment, which passes through Mahe, which is under the jurisdiction of Pondicherry.
Now, a new survey would begin in the Koyilandi – Kannur route, and Kerala Rail Development Corporation would have to find a feasible alternative route for the dream project of Kerala. The Semi High Speed Railway corridor, which connects both the ends of Kerala, would enable one to reach Trivandrum from Kasargode in 4 hours.
