Mammootty said that the movie will not be saved just because the reviews are stopped and the audience decides to watch the movies they like. Now here is Mammootty’s response to the review bombing controversies. The star’s words are, “A movie cannot be ruined by a review. Everyone’s point of view comes through the review. The movie will not be saved just because the reviews are stopped. Reviewers will go that route. The movie will go this way. The audience decides which movie they like. I have said before. We have freedom of speech. It should be our opinions. If we say someone else’s opinion, our freedom of speech is gone. Then the movie should be watched according to our opinions. We have to feel whether we want to watch the movie or not”.
At the same time, there has been severe criticism from the film industry recently against YouTubers who do movie reviews on the day of release. The High Court also intervened in this case. Following this, active discussions were held on the issue of whether reviews are ruining Malayalam cinema. Ajith Vinayaka Films, the producer, has approached the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, pointing out that there was a negative review against Dileep’s film Bandra, which hit the theaters. It is alleged in the petition that negative reviews were made in such a way that the film was released within three days of its release.
Kathal is the seventh film directed by Jio Baby. The film is distributed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. The film will hit the theaters on November 23. At the same time, the film, which has been featured in the Indian panorama, will be screened at IFFI in Goa. Goa Film Festival is from 20th to 28th of this month. Kathal will also be screened at the International Film Festival of Kerala from December 8 to 15.
