Writer M Mukundan has come forward with political criticism. Mukundan’s remarks are also on the stage of the Kerala Literature Festival. In his speech, Mukundan mentioned that those who know the taste of power are sitting on the throne and what they have to say is to get out of there and the people are following. He said that the elections are still coming and the value of blood should be remembered and one should vote with this in mind. “We live in an age of crowns. Blood is becoming less important. Those who sit on the throne know the taste of power. They are told to abdicate. He says that the people are after him.
On the other hand, MT Vasudevan Nair’s political criticism ignited huge controversies. The opposition alleged that the MT meant the government and the chief minister. MT’s criticism was that power can mean domination or totalitarianism, and political activity has become an accepted way to reach power. The inaugural Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was sitting on the stage and he made strong remarks about the power, the crowd created by the authorities and the Netrupojas that are formed by it. After this, the opposition leveled strong accusations against the government. The opposition pointed out that MT’s opinion was equally applicable to Pinarayi Vijayan and Narendra Modi.
