Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch died on Thursday, after 70 years on the throne. She was 96. The UK has entered a 10-day period of official mourning, until the queen’s funeral, and the whole world too has joined in paying tributes.
Meanwhile, actor Suresh Gopi who had the opportunity to meet Queen Elizabeth II, back in 2017 expressed his deepest grief upon the monarch’s demise. The former MP had met Queen Elizabeth II, at the UK-India Year of Culture Reception in 2017.
Suresh Gopi took to his social media handle to mourn the demise of Queen Elizabeth II.
“Saddened to hear about the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I had the great honor of meeting her back in 2017 at Buckingham Palace. Rest in peace Your Majesty.. #QueenElizabeth #TheQueen (sic),” Suresh Gopi said in his note.
On the other hand, Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son, Charles, Prince of Wales, has become the king at 73 and will be known as King Charles III.
