Samsung in announcing the successful completion of a major stage of their 5G test, stated that they had managed to clock a peak speed of 1.7Gbps on a moving train, which was rushing at a rate of 100km/hour. Informing the media that the test took place in Japan, couple of months before; the test came to an end, when the officials completed downloading an 8K video.
Using Samsung’s 5G pre commercial end to end solution, the 5G demonstration comprised of a 5G router (CPE), radio access unit (5G Radio), virtualized RAN and that of a virtualized core. With Samsung successfully completing uplink and downlink handover on multiple occasions this year, the company is sure to come up with a commercial roll out of the technology soon in the coming years.
