Revenue minister orders detailed probe into flood fund scam

The Revenue Minister has ordered a detailed probe into the Flood Fund scam in Ernakulam. The minister’s order came after a deficit of 1 Crore from the flood fund was found. Joint Land Revenue Commissioner M. Kaushik will conduct the investigation. The minister said that detailed report should be submitted within 10 days. The official, who was in charge of investigating the case, retired on May 31. Vishnuprasad, who was an employee of the Ernakulam Collectorate, Is the main accused in the flood fund fraud case. Apart from him, some of the local leaders of CPM too are included in the case. The revenue team found that Vishnuprasad had defrauded Rs 1 crore.

Vishnuprasad’s friend Mahesh, Former local committee member of CPM’s Thrikkakara East area, MM Anwar, his wife Kaulat, who was the former Director of Ayyanad Service Co-operative Bank, second accused Mahesh’s wife Neetu, Former local committee member of CPM’s Thrikkakara East region, Nithin and his wife Shintu are the other accused in the case.
