Covid Patient visited; 19 doctors under surveillance and 2 wards of Peroorkada Hospital closed

As the presence of a Covid patient was confirmed, 19 doctors were sent under surveillance in Thiruvananthapuram. It was after the samples of Fr. KG Varghese, who died last day, confirmed positive, which people, who were in contact with him were sent under surveillance. Fr. KG Varghese, aged 77, was admitted to Peroorkada hospital, after suffering injury during a bike accident. However, with his condition not getting improved, he was shifted to the Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram. It is reported that he had been under treatment for one and half months.

Subsequently, 10 doctors from the Medical College and 9 doctors from the Peroorkada hospital have visited him. 13 employees are also under observation, while 2 wards at Peroorkada Hospital were closed. However, medical department is yet to crack the source of infection of the priest.
