In a big relief for pravasis or the expatriates, Air India Express will start new service from Dubai to Kannur Airport. Air India Express sources said that the service will start from November 1. Currently only Go First Airline operates direct service from Dubai to Kannur.
Air India Express Dubai – Kannur service will be functional on four days a week. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, flight IX 748, which departs from Dubai at 6.40 pm UAE time, will reach Kannur at 11.50 pm Indian time. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, flight IX 747 will depart from Kannur at 12.50 pm Indian time and arrive in Dubai at 3.15 am UAE time. The ticket from Dubai to Kannur starts from 300 Dirhams. Additional baggage allowance of 5 kg will also be permitted.
The cancellation of the only international service of Air India Express from Kannur had caused inconvenience to the expatriates. At present expatriates travel to Kannur from Sharjah. Apart from the Dubai – Kannur service, Air India Express’ new service from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh to Sharjah will also start in the next few days.
