Pregnant Elephant’s Death ; One Arrested

A pregnant elephant was injured in the explosion at Palakkad. Wilson, a native of Malappuram, was arrested. He is a farmer at Ambalappara. Wilson is a tenant farmer. Three suspects were detained yesterday for allegedly carrying explosives.

The forest department has come to the conclusion that the wild life of the forest was taken from swine feeds on the farm. Forest officials said it was unconfirmed that the elephant was deliberately killed by loading explosives in a pineapple. The jungle was injured on May 23 before it reached the Velliyar river. An autopsy reported that the blast caused a minor blast and was two weeks old.

Had not been fed for days. It is concluded that the injured may have reached the jungle. There are people who set snares on pineapples to avoid swine flu. Investigations are underway into private gardens, banana and pineapple cultivation, about 50 km from Nilambur to Mannarkad, which borders Silent Valley.
