Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the people on the occasion of Easter.
In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Happy Easter! We recall the thoughts and ideals of Jesus Christ and the emphasis on social justice as well as compassion. May the spirit of joy and brotherhood be furthered in our society.”
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also extended his Easter greetings to the people of the state.
CM Vijayan tweeted, “May the message of Easter inspire us on our journey to a prosperous and peaceful tomorrow. Christ’s love and sacrifice will give impetus to our struggles to end injustice and inequality. Let this day be full of joy, hope and peace. Heartfelt Easter wishes to all.”
Earlier today, M-Town celebrities including Mega star Mammootty, superstar Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Unni Mukundan, Filmmaker Major Ravi and others also extended their Easter greetings.
Easter, also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday, is a Christian festival and cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.
