Online classes will be Ensured to All Children in Kerala : Jeevan Babu

Thiruvananthapuram: Director of General Education Jeevan Babu says that online classes are not a substitute for school education and are aimed at making children a part of the learning process. He told Mathrubhumi News that as per the comprehensive punishment estimates, two and a half lakh children will not be able to access the existing online learning facilities.

He was elaborating ahead of the launching of classes online for school and college students in the state. The study is made available through the Kite Viktor’s Channel and website. Classes are for children in the State Syllabus. Meanwhile, CBSE and ICSE syllabus will be the focus of schools. Tribal areas will be provided study facilities within a week, he said.

This is not an alternative to school education. But the goal is to keep the children part of the learning process. In the current scenario, according to the Comprehensive Penal Code estimates, 2.5 lakh children cannot access the current online learning facility. There is a problem in the tribal fishery sector.

It is important to bring education to these areas. Therefore, in the first phase, the existing conditions will be used to identify the children who are unable to reach them after they have started functioning. At the school level, the number of children will be taken into account at the current level by the facilities available to them.

Schools are only planning to open in July. Until now, the goal is to make students a part of the learning process. Kite Victor’s Channel is currently available at Cable Operators. He also requested the Center to make it available in DTHs. Even if the TV is not available, children can be reached through other online channels.

Classes for classes one to seven are arranged for half an hour, eight and nine classes one hour, 10th class one hour and twelve classes two hours. CBSE ICSE is implementing a school-based curriculum for students with syllabus. In the current situation it is not possible to carry all the syllabuses together.

It is a supportive system, not a substitute for school education. Teachers are shifting to new ways. Teachers are also learning the method of teaching. Teachers teach without a class and the live reactions that result from it. At this stage, teachers are also learning this type of learning. The videos will be made available through re-broadcast, YouTube and Facebook. He said there will be follow-up and activities to address children’s doubts
