A youth from was arrested in connection with the murder of a housewife at Thazhathangady, Kottayam. The accused, identified as Mohammed Bilal, 23, was arrested from Kochi. District police chief G Jayadev told reporters that Bilal had confessed the crime. Having a history of crimes in the past, Bilal is a neighbor of the murdered housewife, and had reportedly kept a close connection with the family.
While Sheeba, aged 60 was killed, her husband MA Abdul Sally is admitted to the Medical College, and is still in a critical condition. The police, while conducting the investigation with the accused, has recovered gold from the rented house of the accused in Ernakulam. However, the attempt to find the stolen car is in progress. It was the CCTV footage, which helped police to identify the accused.
Bilal works as an online taxi driver in Kochi. Reports suggest that he was not in good terms with his family, and came to the house of Sheeba with an intention to steal. Since he is a known face for the family, the aged couple didn’t hesitate to accommodate him in the house.
