The Humane Society International, a group of humanitarian organizations, has announced a sum of Rs. 10,000 for those who help identify the culprits. It was through facebook that the organization’s India component announced the initiative. The organization through its facebook page, maintained that it was understandable that frequent encounters happen between humans and while animals, the manner at which the pregnant elephant was killed was highly condemnable.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has also sought a report from the state government regarding this incident. Minister Prakash Javadekar maintained that strong actions would be taken against the culprits. Upon hearing the news, the entire nation condemned the act, with several celebrities marking their note of sadness.
