Idukki: Nephew killed his uncle, a retired SSI, for not buying a mobile phone. P. Laxman was killed by his nephew Arun in Idukki Marayur. Arun was arrested in the incident.
Laxmanan was a retired SI of the Tamil Nadu Police. Arun killed Lakshmana in front of his own house. He was absconding after the incident.
Police say that Arun was very close to his uncle Laxman. Arun, a native of Kanthallur, used to stay at Laxman's house from time to time.
When he came home a month ago, Lakshmanan bought Arun's mobile phone and did not return it. There was a fight between the two yesterday over this.
Police said that Lakshmanan did not listen even though he said that he wanted to buy a new phone. Later, he took out the knife which was kept in the car and slashed Arun Lakshmanan, the police said.
