Court denied permission for Maradu fireworks; The High Court upheld the Collector's decision

Kochi: Ernakulam Maradu Palace Devi Temple High Court did not give permission for fireworks. The High Court upheld the District Collector's decision not to grant permission for fireworks.

The High Court rejected the petition filed by the temple administration seeking permission for fireworks. The committee had decided to hold fireworks tomorrow.

The High Court said that the temple management committee is a regular violator of the law. According to the 2002 order, the temple premises are a silent zone, the court said.

The Governing Body decided to file an appeal before the Division Bench. Appeal will be filed today.
