Mammootty Fans Association to organize Kabaddi tournament as a tribute to Attappadi’s Madhu

The Mammootty Fans Association is all set to organize a kabaddi competition in the name of Madhu who was killed in a mob lynching in Attappadi. The match will be played on May 8 at 9 am at Valparai, Coimbatore. Actor Mammootty is also giving assistance in legal services to the family in connection with Madhu’s case.

The state level kabaddi competition will be organized by the Tamil Nadu unit of the Mammootty Fans and Welfare Association. The trophy for the winners is titled “Namath Thampi Madhuvin Ninaivaga” (in memory of our younger brother Madhu) in a manner reminiscent of Mammootty’s description of Madhu.

Earlier, Mammootty had come forth to help Madhu’s family in connection with the case and for this Senior Advocate Nandakumar was given the in-charge. Nandakumar also gives legal advices to Madhu’s family on case proceedings.

On February 22, 2018, Madhu was cornered by a group of men, who attacked him for stealing rice from a grocery shop. They tied him up and beat him with sticks after which he was handed over to the police. Madhu collapsed and died in the police jeep as he was being taken to a Government Specialty Hospital in Kottathara.
