The India Meteorological Department has declared that a low-pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast around Wednesday, paving way for heavy rains in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. A cyclonic circulation lies over Kerala coast and neighbourhood.
East-west trough runs from this system to south Andaman Sea in lower tropospheric levels.
As a result of this, widespread rain is likely in Kerala from today to November 6. Rain along with thunderstorm and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places.
