For the first time, Kerala High Court on Saturday live-streamed its proceedings on YouTube.
The court held a special sitting on Saturday to hear a batch of petitions which challenged the Dewaswom Board notification inviting applications only from Malayali Brahmins for appointment as Melshanthi of Sabarimala.
The matter was heard by the division bench comprising Justice Anil K. Narendran and Justice Ajith Kumar. The Court has adjourned the same to December 17, 2022, for further hearing.
By live streaming its proceedings on YouTube, the Kerala High Court has joined the likes of the High Courts of Gujarat, Gauhati, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Patna, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, and Telangana, which also had taken such step to enhance accessibility and transparency.
The Supreme Court also live streamed its proceedings for the first time on 26th August 2022, on the last working day of former CJI N.V. Ramana’s tenure.
