July 8 Kerala Covid Update: State registered biggest daily toll with 301 more new cases

Today, Kerala has registered 301 new Covid positive cases. This also happened to be the biggest daily positive figure that the state has marked till date, with the figure crossing the 300 mark for the first time. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 107. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 6,194, while the state’s total active cases have reached 2,605. A total of 3,561 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 99 are from overseas, while 95 came from other states. However, in an alarming note, the positive cases through transmission have ticked a record figure till date – 90: (Thiruvananthapuram – 60, Ernakulam – 9, Malappuram – 7, Kozhikode – 5, Alappuzha – 3, Pathanamthitta – 2, Kottayam – 2, Kollam – 1, Idukki – 1)

Right now, 1,85,546 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 3,137. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 11,250 samples – marking the highest figure till date. The state has tested a total of 2,96,183 samples till date. The results of 4,754 tests are yet to come. Today, a total of 421 people have been admitted to hospitals. While the state has added 12 more new hotspots, 4 places have been dropped from the hotspot list. Kerala, right now, has a total of 169 hotspots.
