In line with yesterday, today, Kerala registered a total of 821 new Covid positive cases, which is the highest daily positive case figure that is reported in Kerala. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 172. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 12,480, while the state’s total active cases have reached 7,065. A total of 5,378 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 110 are from overseas, while 90 came from other states.
The state has registered a whopping 629 cases through transmission in the past 24 hours – the biggest figure till date. 13 health workers have been tested positive for the disease. The state has also recorded 2 more Covid death cases – Nafeesa (75) from Kasargode, and Kunju Veeran (67) from Aluva, Ernakulam.

Right now, 1,70,525 people are under observation, with the number of institutional quarantine standing at 7,309. Today, Kerala has tested a total of 18,267 samples. With this, the total number of samples tested by the state, stands at 5,35,505. The results of 5,060 test results are yet to come. Today, a total of 8,66 people have been admitted to hospitals.
