Intel set to invest in Jio platforms; investments worth Rs 1,894

Jio Platforms has received yet another investment, after a series of investments that it had received earlier this year. This time, it is the US semiconductor giant Intel that is investing in Jio. Intel Capital, the investment arm of Intel, is all set to invest Rs 1,894.5 Crore in Jio platforms. With this, Intel would get 0.39% ownership stake in the Jio platform. Adding the new investment, the total value of the Jio platforms has reached Rs 5.16 lakh crore.

It must be said that this is the 12th firm in a year to invest in Jio since April 22nd.  In spite of Covid pandemic, the platform has managed to attract investors across the globe. Investors like Facebook, KKR, General Atlantic and Vista Equity have all made their presence felt in Jio. During this period, Jio has received foreign investment worth to Rs 1,17,588.45 crore. For the amount, Reliance Industries have shed 25.09 per cent ownership stake in Jio Platforms.
