ICMR Approved a Clinical Trial of Plasma Therapy Against Covid-19

Covid -19 cases are on the rise in the country. There are 18,985 people infected with coronavirus in India today. 603 people have died due to Kovid-19. Medical authorities have been working tirelessly to find a treatment that can effectively combat Kovid-19. Meanwhile, there are reports that the treatment of plasma is successful in India. The move by health workers is to try more of the same.

Last week, ICMR approved a clinical trial of plasma therapy against Covid-19, after which several medical institutions around the country began implementing it for their patients. Most results are reported as success. Covid-19 patient treated with plasma therapy in Delhi has improved health condition. The 49-year-old patient is being treated at Max Hospital in New Delhi.

Max’s patient was kept alive with the help of a ventilator. However, after the treatment with plasma, there was a change in the health status and subsequently the ventilator was removed. A similar report comes from elsewhere.

Scientists around the world have already proven that antibody-derived treatment from surviving Covid-19 patients is 100 percent successful. The news that comes with the spread of the drug for successful use against coronavirus is hopeful. The antibody, previously taken from Covid-19 survivors, was also successful in China injecting 10 infected people.

Plasma extracted from the blood of those infected with the coronavirus and subsequently cured, is given to patients with serious conditions. When the donor’s blood is passed through the plasmapheresis machine, the blood cells divide and get to the donor itself. The plasma, which is a cell with no cells, is stored and stored in a refrigerated container. When the coronavirus is infected, the body produces voluntary antibodies to fight it. These types of B lymphocytes are present in the blood plasma.
