The authorities have declared a holiday for all educational institutions in nine districts on Friday as rains continue to wreak havoc in Kerala.
Holiday has been declared for all educational institutions, including professional colleges in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kannur, Wayanad, Kottayam, Idukki and Alappuzha districts on Friday.
It has also been informed that there will be no change in pre-scheduled exams and interviews.
As the rains intensified in the state and in anticipation of water in the Chalakudy river rising further, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan warned residents along its banks and those in low-lying areas of Thrissur and Ernakulam districts to be cautious and to be ready to evacuate as per instructions of the authorities.
