Soon after the success of the Jeep Compass SUV, it was all about midsized SUVs in India. Ford is all after its midsized SUV, dubbed as Kuga aka Espace SUV. Industry insiders report that Ford might not be bringing the Escape to India. The company however would be developing a low cost SUV, carrying striking similarities with Kuga/Espace. As per the reports, the length of the new SUV from Ford is expected to be below 5 meter. A five seater SUV, the latest outing from Ford could have a 1.5 liter three cylinder Dragon Series petrol engine. At 6,500rpm, the vehicle will develop a maximum power of 123hp. It also develops a peak torque of 150Nm at 4,500rpm.
Meanwhile, gearing up for launching by the early part of 2019, the midrange SUV from Ford is expected to be priced in the range of INR 12 Lakh – INR 16 Lakh.
