Thiruvananthapuram: Minister K Radhakrishnan has responded to the allegation that Adivasis were used as showpieces at the Keralayam event in the capital.
Folklore Academy did so harmlessly. The minister also said that folklore academy should check if there is a mistake.
He added that he was personally opposed to showcasing tribals.
It is the responsibility of the academy to show the old things in the new era. It is the responsibility of the Folklore Academy to show what was the condition of ancient times. The minister said that life was prepared as a part of it in the past.
He has not seen it. As soon as he came to know about this yesterday, he contacted the cultural department. They did it harmlessly. The minister also said that folklore academy should check if there is a mistake.
His personal view is that tribal people are not showpieces. The minister added that tribals are not something to be showcased.
At the same time, the BJP and the Congress had come forward against the government, criticizing the display of tribals.
