Along with this, BDJS also took the stand of not wanting PC George. The BDJS state president himself told the BJP central leadership that he would not accept George.
Meanwhile, the BJP leadership is thinking of a new formula. PC George's son Shaun George's name was first mentioned but not now. It is indicated that Shawn's chances are also closed. At the latest, the BJP leadership is looking for the possibility of fielding Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai as a candidate in Pathanamthitta. The BJP hopes that there will be progress if the well-known Goa governor is fielded in the Pathanamthitta constituency.
Sreedharan Pillai, who is stepping down as governor in October, is also interested in contesting. Christian Church leaders are also interested in Sreedharapilla. The NDA leadership reckons that all religious community organizations will support Sreedharan Pillai. BDJS state president Tushar Vellappally has also asked the central BJP leadership to make Sreedharan Pillai a candidate in Pathanamthitta. But the official wing of the BJP in Pathanamthitta, which supports BJP state president K Surendran, is unlikely to accept Sreedharanpilla.
