Ericsson showcased the first ever 5G demonstration in India

After making transition from 2G to 3G and further progressing to 4G, the country is well at the doorstep of next revolution – 5G. Global leaders in communication technology, Ericsson showcased the first ever live end to end demonstration in the 5G mode in the country. Using the Ericsson’s 5G test bed and 5G New Radio (NR), the demonstration produced a stunning result – delivering 5.7Gbps and an ultra low latency of 3 milliseconds.

With government planning to rollout 5G technology by the year 2020, the demonstration made by Ericsson, further showcased the kind of effect it could have on the user habits. While demonstrating the event, Ericsson technology spokesperson maintained that 5G technology would bring a revenue of $27 billion to the Indian telecom operators by 2026.
