Actor Dileep and Director and Chairman of the Chalachithra Academy Ranjith Balakrishnan shared the stage at an event organised by Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) on Thursday in Kochi. This comes after Ranjith invited sexual assault survivor onto the stage of IFFK 2022, apparently where Dileep is an accused in the case. Kerala Cultural Welfare Development Board chairman Madhupal also attended the meeting.
FEUOK had organised the function to honour both Ranjith and Madhupal following their appointment to the top posts.
Ranjith had earlier faced criticism and made it clear that he never said anything in support of the accused and his visit to the Aluva sub-jail to meet Dileep then was ‘coincidental’. He had just accompanied another person to jail.
At the event, Dileep was all in praise for Ranjith and said he had the capability and personality to become Kerala Chalachithra Academy chairman. Speaking on the occasion, Ranjith said that the issue of theater owners has been brought to the notice of the government.
According to Madhupal, he would always stand with the film industry and those associated with it. The FEUOK general body meeting is being held to take decisions on several matters including the amendment of the bylaws of the organisation. Dileep is the president of FEUOK.
