Two accused have managed to escape from Police custody, while they were taken to Manjeri Medical College for Covid test. It was today morning that the accused, Mahaboob and Ramshad managed to escape from the custody. Mehaboob is been levied with POCSO charges and Ramshad is been arrested for bike theft cases. Police, who have taken them under custody, proceeded with the procedural medical checkup including Covid test, is in search of the accused.
It was from the special isolation ward from the Manjeri Medical College that the duo managed to escape. It must be added that a similar incident took place in the previous week as well, when an accused managed to escape, upon tested negative for Covid. However, Police did manage to catch the accused within hours. That said the test results of the two accused is yet to come, which has created a tensed atmosphere in Manjeri, especially since the area being tagged as a containment zone.
