Covaxin started clinical trial in Children in India

The test of Covaxin manufactured by Bharat Biotech has started in children. The clinical trials are being conducted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna. On May 11, the Drugs Controller of India, Bharat Biotech, gave the go-ahead for testing the vaccine on children. VK, a member of the Judicial Commission, said that the Drugs Controller General of India has approved two- and three-phase clinical trials in children between the ages of two and eighteen. India launched the world’s largest vaccine campaign on January 26 this year. In the first phase, the vaccine was given to health workers. Currently, the vaccine is available in the country for people over 18 years of age. Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin, Serum Institute’s Covshield and Russia’s Sputnik V are currently being distributed in the country.
