With the Google I/O 2018 is on the anvil, Chrome OS seems to be going to have an overhaul. The Chrome OS Canary channel has recently been updated for supporting the Linux (Beta) option. Found by About Chromebooks, the Linux app compatibility would help Chromebook users run Linux tools, editors and IDEs. Earlier, users could only run Linux in a window via a Crouton extension.

All expected to be announced during the Google I/O 2018, this new feature has made Pixelbooks and Chromebooks more compatible for developers. While Pixelbook supports Linux app, Chromebooks might take more time, before which the update hits the devices.
