Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will release KM Mani’s autobiography today. At the same time, KM Mani’s autobiography made the Congress leaders accused in the Barkoza case. The autobiography says that Ramesh Chennithala turned against him because he did not help him to become the Chief Minister. The book also states that the Barkoza case was the sum total of the machinations of some leaders. Another is the allegation that the Congress leaders were always trying to destroy the Kerala Congress Party and himself. The then Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala is mentioned by name in the Barkoza allegation. A Congress leader approached Ramesh to make him the Chief Minister. He did not appreciate it. With this, Barkoza used the allegation as a stick against him.
Chennithala acted as if he was waiting for the accusation to be made. An urgent vigilance inquiry was announced against him as a matter of urgency. Chennithala would have thought in his mind that he should drink some water. The person who leveled the allegations against him had connections with some senior Congress leaders. Mani also says in his autobiography that Ramesh Chennithala and Oommen Chandy became the wedding planners for his daughter’s wedding.
In his autobiography, Mani has mentioned that the Congress leaders were responsible for the most painful days of his political life. The autobiography also says that although he overcame the allegations and won in Pala, the main reason for the UDF’s loss of majority was factionalism in the Congress. KM Mani Foundation’s explanation is that the autobiography written by KM Mani six months before his death is now being published.
