CBSE withdrawn uniform evaluation assessment policy for class 6 to 8

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has withdrawn the policy of universal assessment for students studying from class 6 to 8. The decision was in line with the objection raised the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). NCPCR had earlier advocated that the evaluation was a sort of violation of the Right to Education Act (RTE).

In releasing an official note regarding the same, CBSE mentioned that their earlier circular regarding the uniform system of assessment was repealed. The previous notification issued by CBSE had mentioned that the uniform system of assessment was meant for increasing confidence in the students for preparing for class 10 board examinations.
