Bomb hoax in Tamil Nadu continues; this time it’s Vijay

Unidentified calls speculating bomb in the houses of popular figures continue making waves in Tamil Nadu. Last month, we saw a fake call speculating bomb in Rajinikanth’s house, creating panic in the town. Back then, Rajinikanth didn’t allow the bomb squad to enter the house, out of Covid concerns. Now, a similar bomb hoax has prompted the bomb squad in Chennai to conduct a search in Vijay’s house. Earlier last night, the Tamil Nadu Police Control room received an anonymous message, informing that a bomb had been planted in Vijay’s home in Chennai.

Rushed to the spot, the search by the bomb squad at midnight proved that it was yet another fake call. Police has gone onto make a serious probe into the one behind the call, and the search ended up with a mentally challenged young man from Villupuram district. Reportedly, the 21 year old man had made several similar bomb hoaxes, which troubled the bomb squad. His previous attempts include those of the fake calls speculating bomb being planted at the residences of the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanaswamy and Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi.  Upon questioning he had confessed the crime, and was warned by the police.
