Kerala has registered a total of 1083 new Covid positive cases. The number of samples that turned negative stands at 1021. With this, the total number of covid cases in Kerala has reached 27,936, while the state’s total active cases have reached 11,540. A total of 16,303 people have recovered from the disease. Amongst those who have turned positive today, 51 are from overseas, while 64 came from other states.
The state has registered 902 cases through transmission in the past 24 hours. Out of those who caught the disease through transmission, the sources of 71 are yet to be traced down. Incidentally, the state has also recorded 3 more Covid death cases, taking the tally to 87. Jayanandan (53) from Thiruvananthapuram, and Rajesh (45) from Kozhikode have succumbed to death. The results of Ernakulam native Gopi (87), who died on August 2, has also turned positive.

Right now, 1,45,062 people are under observation, out of which a total of 10,922 are in hospital. Today, a total of 1,241 people have been admitted to hospitals. During the last 24 hours, Kerala has tested a total of 20,087 samples. Till date, Kerala has tested a total of 8,59,960 samples. The results of 7,595 test results are yet to come. The state has a total of 509 hotspots right now.
