Aashiq Abu speaks about Virus

Ever since the first look poster of ‘Virus’ got released, Malayalam film fraternity was abuzz with rumours regarding the actual theme of the movie. Proving all such rumours right, director Aashiq Abu has come up with a statement that the movie was set against the backdrop of the ‘Nipah Virus’ attack, which panicked Kerala earlier this year. The movie, which has got a tremendous star cast inside the camp, invited attention from round the corners. Speaking about the project, Aashiq Abu maintained that it was the way the whole people of Kerala stood against the disease, which prompted him to take up the project.

Rima Kallingal will be the one, who is going to enact the reel life of sister Lini, who became an embodiment of courage for her brave act during the incident. ‘Virus’ will also see Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Kalidas Jayaram, Remya Nambeesan, Revathy and to name a number of familiar faces appearing in pivotal roles. Though it boasts of an ensemble cast, Aashiq Abu maintained that making a multi star movie wasn’t his actual intention. All set to start shooting by the month of December, ‘Virus’ will be produced by ‘OPM Cinema’.
