BJP leader Karamana Ajith enumerated the corruption stories that happened after Mayor Arya Rajendran assumed office. He enlisted the 23 scams taken place during the 23 months of administration, through a Facebook post.
Arya Rajendran took office as the Mayor of Thiruvananthapuram in 2020. Within months of assuming office, the first corruption took place. The first scam under the mayor’s leadership was the theft of money by pretending to clean public streets in the name of Attukal Pongala.
Ajith enumerated the list of scams as per the following:
1. Scam on account of Pongala cleaning that was not done on public roads.
2. Building tax evasion scam
3. Employment tax fraud is corruption.
4. Vehicle theft scam.
5. Mobile Mortuary scam
6. Hitachi scam.
7. Compactor scam.
8. Lakhs of corruption by levying income tax from fixed investment fund.
9. Idayar land deal scam.
10. Corruption of Aksharasree.
11. Scheduled caste embezzlement.
12. The kitchen bin scam.
13. Commission Fund Scam for CFLTC during Covid
14. LED light corruption.
15. EMS housing construction project scam
16. Multi level car parking construction corruption.
17. Corruption in ABC program (Animal birth control).
18. Loan subsidy fraud scam for self-employment of general category women.
19. Corruption in procurement of raw materials for waste treatment at source.
20. Caste-based sports team corruption
21. Corruption in execution of contract in firewood graveyard at Shanti Gate (Kavadam)
