21-year-old stabbed to death in Malappuram for refusing love; Sister injured

A 21-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a youth in Perinthalmanna for refusing love. The victim was identified as Perinthalmanna Elad Koozhamthura Chemmattil. Drishya’s sister Devashree (13) was admitted to the Perinthalmanna hospital with injuries sustained in the attack. Defendant Vineesh Vinod (21) has been taken into police custody. The incident took place at around 8 am on Thursday. Vineesh stabbed Drishya into the room on the second floor of the house. He also stabbed Devasree, who was in the room with the scene. According to police, Vineesh was attacked for refusing a love proposal. The detainee is being questioned in detail.

Drishya’s father Balachandran’s CK stores caught fire yesterday, police suspect that it was Vineesh who killed Drishya and set the establishment on fire. Police say the man, who initially set the shop on fire in retaliation for his refusal to love, broke into the home Thursday morning and killed the young woman.
