New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia against CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury for refusing the invitation to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. He said it was unfortunate that the Yechury ceremony named after Sita and Raman was being boycotted.
‘I am amazed at the stand he has taken as someone with Sita and Raman in his name. “It is very unfortunate to be absent from the ceremony,” Scindia said.
At the same time, religion should not be used for political gain. Hence, Sitaram Yechury said that he will not participate in the function. Yechury also said that CPIM’s policy is to respect religious beliefs and protect the right of every individual to follow their faith.
Yechury also said that converting a religious ceremony into a state sponsored event is not acceptable. The constitution states that the state should not have any religious affiliation. Yechury also stated that the Supreme Court has repeatedly said this.
