Xiaomi Redmi Y2 has got launched in India for a price of INR 9,999. The smartphone, which will replace the Redmi Y1 in India, is the rebranded version of the Redmi S2 smartphone in China. Sporting a 5.99 inch IPS LCD screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9, the Redmi Y2 comes in three colors – Elegant Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey. There would be two variants available for Redmi Y2 based on the RAM/ROM combination – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, Redmi Y2 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, which is skinned by MIUI 9.5. The device is equipped with a 16MP sensor on the front side, whereas dual cameras power the rear side – 12MP+5MP. The cameras come with Auto HDR feature and has got AI enhanced Beautify 4.0. While the base variant is priced at INR 9,999, that of the higher variants comes with a price tag of INR 12,999.
