Why is it being called bad? Sreekumaran Thambi supports Chitra, should not see Sriraman as belonging to RSS

Music director Sreekumaran Thambi responded to the controversy following KS Chitra’s call. Supporting KS Chitra in the controversy, Sreekumaran Thampi told Asianet News that why there is so much opposition for lighting the lamp, everyone has freedom of expression and name-calling is not acceptable. He said that Sri Rama should not be seen as belonging to RSS and Sri Rama belongs to everyone in India. MT Vasudevan Nair is a leading writer of Malayalam. He gave his opinion. Many spoke against and in favor of the opinion.

Everyone is free to express their opinion. What is the point of saying that all those who speak against the movement I believe in should be called bad. Every citizen has the fundamental right to express his opinion. Chitra is a devotee of Lord Rama. I used to sing Ram Padam Cherane Mukunda Rama Pahimam in my childhood evening. It’s ingrained in the culture. So why is there so much objection to chanting the name of Ram and lighting the lamp? The problem is that Sri Rama is seen as belonging to the BJP or the RSS.

Lord Rama belongs to everyone in India. Lord Rama is the hero of Vatmiki’s Ramayana, and Lord Krishna is such a hero. We used to worship such heroes. I don’t understand why everyone is bashing Chitra who made such a comment. You don’t have to agree if you don’t like it. Why are you calling it bad? I am not a spokesperson of any party. I have political opinions but I personally stand with the truth. If Pinarayi does good, he will support it, if Modi does good, he will also support it. Sreekumaran Thampi said that it cannot accept a group attack.
