WhatsApp is getting ready to launch a new payment feature in India. Reports suggested that the Facebook owned messaging company has begun testing a UPI based payment feature in India. Only available for beta users on both – iOS and Android platforms, the UPI payment service, will soon be made available on the next update. Reports suggested that the 2.18.21 version of iOS and the 2.18.41 version of Android, would have this feature.
Users will be given chance to link their preferred bank account for connecting with UPI. Users will have to create a UPI account through the UPI app or that of the app of their respective banks. Earlier, it was in the last year, which WhatsApp secured the governmental approval for integrating with UPI.
