“What if they told Nangeli, ‘You face legal action’? – Joseph Annamkutty Jose

Vijay P Nair, a YouTuber, has been accused of assaulting a group of women in Kerala. In the incident, a lot of people came on the scene for and against women. Now Joseph Annamkutty Jose has come out in favor of women on this issue. Joseph Annamkutty shared Jose’s post on Facebook. Joseph Annamkutty Jose says that there are a lot of people in our society who are denied justice because they were born a woman and they do not get the protection they deserve from Yamam. You can read the Facebook post:

Feminism !!

There was a time in our country when women had to pay taxes to cover up. The tax on women belonging to lower castes who had to pay  Nangeli is one of the most memorable women in history who reacted to this injustice! The tax inspector went directly to her house and told her not to take the law into her own hands. After saying that she did not want to pay for the ‘mulakkaram’, she put her forehead on the banana leaf with a scythe and put it on the banana leaf. She was the one who forced the king to withdraw ‘Mu, Lakkaram’; Nangeli’s Cho, Ra, who dared to question the law which could not protect the freedom of women. I’m sure many of those who thought of the king’s back then may have shrunk down as well

‘Should Mu, La Mu, Rich respond to all this? Then why the law?’, ‘Who went when he left?’ ‘Is she an idiot who cut MuLa for the right to hide Mula?’ ‘Why did she cut her forehead now, which she had not cut before?’

Nangeli is probably one of the earliest feminists to see Malayalam! What is feminism? It’s not anti-masculine, it’s not that crooked, blindfolded that women and men should be seen as equal everywhere, ‘feminism is the voice that rises when a woman is denied justice for being born a woman’.

I urge you who are reading this to do something with your heart! High, it’s poetic!

What would you do if you saw pictures of yourself or your loved one being morphed into guinea pigs and pasted on the walls of the neighborhood and the countryside by ‘someone you know’? Imagine people copying these photos on their mobile phones and transferring them to WhatsApp groups, and then slowly adding words like “W, T, chicken, oh, real sex, mama work” to your favorite person. Make sure these pictures are proof ‘Didn’t you see that these are just weirdos? If someone posted a video saying ‘these guys are just pi, mp’, what would you most likely do as a normal person if they were constantly insulting you? How would your natural reaction be?

‘Damn, aren’t pictures like this pasted on the wall, that’s bad’, ‘I’ll count to ten, and if it’s not torn yet, I will call Lee’, ‘I respect the freedom of expression that India gives you, but is it right to do so?’ I do not think any of us would respond in such a gentle way, with such a broad mind.

When Devasena said, ‘I could have reacted more politely’, when the fingers of the one who touched his body were on the spot, the applause in the theater in the past rose, oh sorry, when they applauded Bahubali, La Way. ‘ Selective applause.

The exception is a virus bigger than Kovid! Without a pinch of bamboo, it will pollute the minds of many people. I have repeatedly said in the videos that the wrongdoer should be forgiven, of course the ‘propagandist’ should also be forgiven but therefore his wrongdoing is not wrong and he deserves legal punishment.

We may not understand the depth of the pain that a person experiences with ‘exception’ until he or she experiences such a tragedy in his or her own life. One may not be able to respond to all the injustices in the world, at least when one reacts against the injustice against oneself with fire, why don’t we try to understand that it is for others as well ?, it is a sad joke to call it ‘selective response’.

Do we have to wait until we have an experience in our own lives to know the pain of humiliation, to know the nitty-gritty in front of the victims?

“First they came looking for communists
I did not say anything
Because I was not a communist

Then they came looking for workers
Still I did not say anything
Because, I was not a worker

Then they came looking for Ju
I did not say anything
Because I was not a ju.

Eventually they came looking for me
Then speak for me
There was no one left… ”
(Martin Niemöller,)

May we all have the ‘luck’ to recognize identity,

Recognizing,

Joseph Annamkutty Jose
