Gearing up to launch X20 Plus UD, Vivo is preparing to be the frontrunner of the in display fingerprint sensor technology. Vivo X20 Plus UD, which recently secured a 3C certification in China, would turn out to be the first smartphone in the world to sport in display fingerprint sensors. The smartphone is rumoured to be using Qualcomm’s under screen fingerprint sensing technology, would be reading the fingerprints through ultrasonic waves sent by piezoelectric.
If going in line with Qualcomm’s words, then the sensors are going to read fingers, even if they are wet. That said, Vivo is yet to make it clear that whether it would be using Qualcomm or Synaptics, which recently announced an in display fingerprint sensor – ID FS9500.
